Ukrainian Communists Unveil Stalin Statue
A monument honoring Stalin was inaugurated on Wednesday in Zaporizhzhia, in southeastern Ukraine, just days before May 9th, the day celebrating the victory against the Nazis.
The inauguration was displayed in the presence of several former fighters who carried portraits of the former Soviet dictator, a few days before the anniversary.
The monument is seven feet high and was placed in front of the local headquarters of the Communist Party of the Russian-speaking region of Ukraine, in the presence of about 1,000 people, veterans, retirees and other supporters of the party.
Two military vehicles passed by the demonstrators who bobbed red flags and portraits of Stalin.
Former combatants have praised “father of people” and shouted “Long live Stalin”.
