Apple Unveils new iPhone 4G, price $199-$299
As predicted by many Steve Jobs launched the new iPhone in what he called the ‘biggest leap since the original iPhone.’ However the launch was short on surprises after technology blog Gizmodo purchased a prototype iPhone 4 that an Apple staff member left in a bar in April and published its features on their website. Jobs referred to that incident saying ‘Stop me if you’ve already seen this.’
As expected the biggest change is the addition of another camera in the front that is capable of making video calls. Besides this, the screen is also sharper – around four times as many pixels as the iPhone 3GS – and it sports a new stainless steel frame that also acts as an antenna.
The iPhone also has multitasking capabilites allowing users to send messeges while listening to music, and a folder system to make it easier to manage applications. (click here for all the features)
The 16 gb Iphone 4 will be available for $199 on a 24 month contract with AT&T, while users will have to pay $299 if they want one with added storage capacity (32 gb). The iPhone goes on sale on the 24th of June in five countries including the US and UK. It will be available in around 80 countries by the end of the year.
