Parliament approves the access of foreign troops in Ukraine

The Ukrainian Parliament voted President’s Viktor Yanukovych proposal to allow soldiers from other states to participate in multinational exercises held in Ukraine in 2010, reports Interfax Ukraine, quoted by the Kyiv Postel in the electronic edition.

The project was approved with 394 votes out of a   total of 433.

This bill relates, inter alia, the maneuvers between Ukraine, Poland, Canada, Lithuania, known as Maple Arch, or multinational military exercises Light Barrier and Avalanche.

The project also proposes, allowing access of foreign troops to participate in Ukraine  at the Slavi maneuvers  for peace between Ukraine and Slovakia, Ukraine- Romania and Ukraine -Belarus maneuvers , Cossack Step maneuvers or multinational  maneuvers between Ukraine and the U.S. -Sea Fast Breeze and Trident.

Communist parliamentary group, which is part of the current coalition with the Regions Party and Bloc Litvin,has declared earlier that they will not vote for this project.
