Pedophile priests in Italy
A shocking file happened in the Italian peninsula: a bishop testified in the trial of a priest charged with child molestation.
Bishop Gino Real testified that he was aware of rumors about abuses, two years before the priest’s arrest, but didn’t considered credible to require his removal or the informing of Vatican.
Moreover, he defended the decision not to exclude or suspend it on the account, limiting it by telling them not to allow two children to sleep at home.
Conti is accused, among others, to commit sexual violence. Victims, including the smallest, had 13 years when committing the alleged abuse. They told authorities that the priest sexually abused her when she invites to dinner or seeing movies. Conti had molested more children until April 2008, two months before being arrested.
The priest has denied the allegations, but admitted that he caressed fatherly.
