Taxi driver goes on rampage, kills 12 people
A taxi driver went on rampage in the town of Cumbria in North England killing 12 people and injuring many others. Derrick Bird was a self employed taxi driver who drove through the country and targeted people at random. Other than the 12 killed 25 people were injured out of whom 3 are critical and five are in serious condition.
Three victims of the rampage have been identified as Darren Rewcastle, Garry Purdham and Michael Pike. Mr. Rewcastle was a taxi driver while Mr. Purdham was a farmers son and he also had two children. The police have said that the reason behind the rampage is not yet known and and no evidence has been found suggesting anything.
Derrick Bird’s body was later found in Boot in the Lake District. Two weapons were found upon him.
