Picasso, Matisse Stolen in Mega Art Heist
Masterpiece paintings were stolen in an overnight raid from the Museum of Modern Art in Paris. The paintings were discovered missing early this morning as the museum prepared to open for the public. Now the museum is closed and the police cordoned off the area opposite the Eiffel Tower while forensic teams scan it.
The intruder broke in by cutting a padlock on a gate and broke a museum window. The surveillance footage reported a mask thief removing the paintings. The police’s next step is to locate the perpetrators and retrieve the paintings.
Paris prosecutor assumed total worth of the paintings much higher than 613 million dollars.
