Nani injury: Portugal star out of World Cup
Portugal Star Nani has been ruled out of the Soccer World Cup
Portugals World Cup dreams have been dealt a cruel blow with star player Nani ruled out of the tournament. Nani injured his shoulder while attempting an acrobatic shot during a training session and medical staff have said that he wont be able to recover in time.
The Manchester United winger was in form this season and even scored during Portugals 3-1 against Cameroon last week. Benfica’s Ruben Amorim has been added to the squad in Nani absense.
He joins a growing list of high profile players who have been ruled out of the World Cup including David Beckham, Michael Ballack and Didier Drogba. However there is some good news for Portugal, Real Madrid defender Pepe is almost certain to be fit for the World Cup.
Portugals first match is agianst Ivory Coast on the 15th of June.
