Pope faces pedophile priest scandal
Vatican spokesman, Federico Lombardi, affirmed today that the scandal related to the pedophile priests has not avoided Pope Benedict XVI ,announced Wednesday.
Thousands of pilgrims came to Fatima to attend the official service of Pope Benedict the XVI.
“Although you might think that the abuse scandal could have weakened the vitality of the Pope, that is not going to happen,” Lombardi stated during a press conference at Fatima, Portugal.
500,000 people attended ,this morning, the service officiated by Pope Benedict XVI to celebrate the first appearance of Virgin Mary to shepherd children on May 13th 1917, in Fatima.
The Pope is “very pleased and very impressed by the number of people present there,” said Lombardi.
