Pope accuses the Church of the “inside sin”
Benedict XVI has warned that the greatest threat to the Catholic Church is the ”inside sin”, not the persecution coming from the exterior, according to BBC.
”Today we see a truly most severe persecution of the Church not from external enemies, but because of the national sin of the Church,” he told the press while he was in flight to Portugal where he will be in a four-day visit.
Previously, critics had accused the Vatican that it sought to blame the media and the opponents of the Church of sex scandals which seemed to have involved several Catholic priests.
