Pedophile priests scandal reaches Brazil
A priest suspected of pedophilia, Cavaleiro Jose Rodrigues,recently mayor of a small joint in Piaui State, Brazil, was arrested, announced Monday.
The apprehendtion was made at the request of a prosecutor of the Regional Court of Piaui, one of the poorest states in Brazil.
Hitherto, the number of children who could have been victims of the Cavaleiro sexual abuse is still unknown.
At least six sexual scandals involving Catholic priests most of whom are from Brazil, erupted these last days.
Brazil is the largest Catholic country in the world. 74% of the 190 million people consider themselves Catholics .
