India Vs Sri Lanka 1st test live: Rain disrupts play again
India Vs Sri Lanka 1st test, day 2 – live update
Overnight rain has once again disrupted play on the second day of the first test between India and Sri Lanka. Play was scheduled to start half an hour early, at 9:30 am local time, to accomadate lost overs from yesterday, but that was not possible due to overnight rain.
Only 68 overs out of a possible 90 could be bowled yesterday due to a delayed start and bad light in the last session. Judgeging by conditions, yesterdays loses may not be made up and many more overs could be lost today.
Sri Lanka are in a comfortable position going into the second day. They have 256 on the board for the loss of just two wickets. Opener Tharanga Paranavitana is still at the crease, he has 110 to his name and played beautifully yesterday. Mahela Jayawardene is the other not out batsman, he is on 8.
The good news however is that there is no rain at the moment and the ground staff are working hard to try and get the outfield dry.
Stay tuned for regular updates.
