Lawsuit against Apple after iPhone 4g antenna problems
Law firm Kershaw, Cutter & Ratinoff is gathering disgruntled iPhone 4g users to launch a class action against Apple after users reported problems with the iPhones antenna. Although there is no specific mention of a class action, the firms website says that it is investigating iPhone issues. The phone went on sale last week in the US and many users are unhappy with the reception quality which fades off or drops out when the phone is held in a certain way.
Beside the antenna, users also report problems with the screen and buttons that were fitted the wrong way. However, the problems dont seem to slow down sales with more than two million units sold since last week. Any possibilities of an iPhone 4g recall were quashed when Steve Jobs responded to users saying ” just don’t hold it that way.”
However Apple have released a statement saying, “Avoid gripping it in the lower left corner in a way that covers both sides of the black strip in the metal band, or simply use one of many available cases.”
The iPhone 4g was launched earlier this month and Steve Jobs called it the best iPhone yet. The phone features a forward facing camera and the ability to multitasking – two features that users desperately wanted. Despite the problems, the iPhone 4g price is not expected to change. It is still available for the original price of $199 to $299.
