Merkel Faces her First Test in Local State Election

Over 13 million voters in the German state of North Rhine – Westphalia were called yesterday to vote for the regional parliament nomination.

According to Source AFP Reuters, the pool is most likely to affect  the coalition of Chancellor Angela Merkel, after adopting the controversial plan for the financial support of Greek economy.

For the coalition led by Merkel, losing the elections in the North Rhine – Westphalia region is the same thing as the loss of majority in the Bundesrat, the upper house of parliament.

Therefore there is a tough  trial that Merkel has to overcome in t.he following days.
