Ed and David Miliband have joined the race for leadership of the Labour Party in Britain, promising to remove the former ruling party of Blair-Brown era.

Brothers David and Ed Miliband, the British government ministers, will debate for President of the Labour Party, which became vacant after the recent resignation of Gordon Brown.

The first to enter the race was David, former chief diplomat in London, credited with the best chance. He announced his intention to take the reins of the party which, until last week, has led Britain for 13 years ,on Wednesday, .

Ed, the younger brother, who was been between 2008 and 2010, Labour Minister within the executive also led by Brown, made a similar announcement three days later, during a speech.

The  Party Congress will be held  late in September in Manchester. “I talked with my family and friends and I decided to run for the Labour leadership. I think it will be a brotherly competition, and not just between me and David, but also with other candidates, “said Ed, quoted by Agence France Presse.
