Liberal Democrats become important decision factors
Liberal Democrats in Britain, ranked third in Thursday’s elections, are the ones who will decide the future governance structure, despite a disappointing result.
While conservatives have won elections, the main opposition party has obtained an absolute majority, thus being forced to start negotiations on forming a coalition government.
The party led by David Cameron, obtained, according to partial results, 305 seats (36.1 percent), while the Labour Party got only 258 seats in the House of Commons (29.1 percent). In third place the Liberal Democrats led by Nick Clegg were ranked with 57 seats (23 percent).
Courted by both the Labourite and the Conservatives, Liberal Democrat leader announced today that he will begin negotiations with the party led by David Cameron.
