General election cause ten deaths
Ten people were killed today in the Philippines in the violent events triggered by the general elections that are supposed to designate the current president’s( Gloria Arroyo ) successor, announces Le Monde.
Two men ensuring the guard of a deputy died during fire exchanges with police forces. The incident occurred on the outskirts of Manila.
Other three other people were killed this morning during a police raid against the headquarters of a candidate at the local elections in a province south of the country.
General elections are consistently an opportunity for bloody violence in this country where local politicians have private militias.
