Cameron, one step away from Downing Street

The British voted yesterday in a pool with international implications related to the Afghanistan War and the economic situation of the kingdom.

Preliminary surveys showed that conservatives were 9% ahead of the labourites and 10% more popular than the democrats.

The conservative leader, David Cameron occupied the first page of most  British newspapers. The Time and The Guardian stated that Cameron is one step away from getting the keys of presidency in London Downing Street no.10 in his hands.

The ascension of the Conservative Party has been under the close attention of the governments all over the continent. However, lately, as a precaution measure they have started to soften their critiques.

Last year Nicolas Sarkozy had declared that conservatives’ attitude towards Europe is “pathetic”. A few days ago, the French authorities stated: “Paris will strongly cooperate with any of the parts winning the elections”.
