Moscow Covered in heavy smog Blanket
Thick smog has covered Moscow and adjoining areas and it may continue for two and half more months.
Doctors have warned of complications to health caused by smog like breathing problems and lung disease. Elderly and very young people have been advised to stay at home in the worst hit areas
Smog is being generated by mixture of smoke from peat fires and petrol fumes. Smog is coming mainly from Meshcherskaya lowland region, situated to the east of capital.
“Smog problem is not getting any better as the peat fires are raging in all regions around Moscow” Alexey Yaroshenko said at a RIA Novosti round table on Monday.
Hey burning also contributes to the smog. Moscow is expected to face smog for the coming two and half months.
“High temperature has broken all records in Moscow for over a month. However weather will play a large part in clearing this up.” Yaroshenko went on.
Six temperature records have been shattered and there in no sign of relief in the sight in near future.
