You-tube banned in Russia
A regional court in Russia banned YouTube because it carried a single video containing “extremist” content which prompted the Russia’s blogosphere to react with anger today.
Rosnet, a local internet provider were ordered by the court in Komsomolsk-on-Amur in Khabarovsk region of Russia, to block YouTube as well as three online libraries and a website that archives deleted web pages.
‘Russia For Russians’ an ultra-nationalist video was the reason for this regional ban because YouTube hosted this video. After a separate court decision in Samara region in November this video was added to the justice ministry’s federal list of banned extremist materials.
