Uruguay Vs Germany preview and prediction |FIFA World Cup 2010
Two teams, with completely different expectations take on each other at the Nelson Mandela Bay Staduim in Port Elizabeth tonight.
Who would have expected Germany and Uraguay to take on each other so late in the tournament, but that exactly what we are up for tonight. These two teams will be fighting it out for third spot in the FIFA World Cup 2010.
Germany were one of the favourites to win the World Cup and after their early performances, they should us exactly why. But their dreams were shattered by Spain in the semies and now all they got to play for is pride.
Uraguay on the other hand were the underdogs. Having failed to make it to the final 32 in 2006, just progressing to the final 16 would have been hailed as a great effort.
Players to watch
Miroslav Klose from Germany and Uruguays Diego Forlan have each booted four goal so far in the tournament. Klose needs just one more goal to beat the all time FIFA World Cup tally of 15 goals. With the golden boot also up for grabs, expect a fierce contest and plenty of strikes towrds the nets.
Prediction – 2-1
Germany will no doubt be favourites. We expect them to score at least 2. Given Uraguays run the World Cup so far, nobody can doubt that they are capable of scoring at least one tonight.
