India Vs New Zealand 1st ODI: bowlers destroy NZ top order
The Indian bowlers have made a good start to the tri-series,picking up the wickets of Mark Guptill, Peter Ingram and Kane Williamson to put New Zealand on the back foot. A short while ago, New Zealand were struggling at 3/30 from 9 overs.
The Indian bowlers have been spot on, moving the ball both ways in on a slightly greenish pitch. Preveen Kumar did the early damage getting rid of Guptill for 11 in the third over.
Nehra followed with the wicket of Ingram for 12 in the sixth over, while Praveen was in the act again an over later, dismissing debutanat Williamson for a nine ball duck.
Earlier New Zealand captain Ross Taylor won the toss and elected to bat first, despite clear signs that there was something for the fast bowlers early in the game. His decision may have been due to the poor lightling at the stadium which was evident during the Asia Cup a couple of months ago.
Scott Styris is currently on 1, while captain Ross Taylor has four to his name. Praveen Kumar has figures of 2/18 from 5 overs, while Nehra has 1/10 from 4.
