Uruguay Vs Ghana preview and predictions – quarter final | FIFA World Cup 2010
Not many people expected Uruguay and Ghana to get this far, but these two teams have defied the odds and risen to the challenge everytime they have played. Along the way they have brushed aside many good teams and have broken the hearts of many supporter (not theirs offcourse).
Uruguay held soccer powerhouse France to a draw in their very first game, they followed this up with a convincing win against South Africa and sealed top spot in their group with a win against Mexico.
Ghana on the other hand were a bit more moderate in their group games. They held off Australia to a draw, and won against the Serbians.
Tonight Uruguay and Ghana take on each other at the The Soccer City Stadium in Johannesburg. Uraguay are no doubt the favourites. They have a much more experienced side and their run in the FIFA World Cup 2010 has been a lot more exciting them their opponents. Ghana on the other hand have the youngest squads in the tournament
Uruguay also have a very dynamic team and are capable of out foxing any side. Diego Forlan and Luis Suarez have been the key to Uruguays sucess and they both have a decent goal tally already.
Having watched Ghana play in the past couple of games, they certainly look to have improved. Experienced campaigner John Mensah, has played a crucial role in their success and will have a big task ahead of him today.
There is no doubt Ghana will be able to get one past the goalkeep, but we expect Uruguay to double that. Our predictions: Uruguay 2 – Ghana 1.
