Playboy launches new iPad app
Playboy has launched a new censored iPad application in order to meet Apple’s anti-obscenity rules. Apple has a strict policy where anything they consider to be “obscene, pornographic, offensive or defamatory” is banned from the Apple store.
Users who choose to purchase the online version of the magazine will not be able to see nude pictures of models, and the famous playmate of the month will only have her face shown.
Playboy, which is run by Hugh Heffner, is a hit amony young men, and some users are not happy with the censorship.
Apple is one of the few large companies to take a strong stance against ponographic material. Its rival, Google Android market permits adult content.
