Ricardo Carvalho calls Real Madrid move 'a dream'
The 32-year-old Portuguese and Chelsea centre-back Ricardo Carvalho wants to join Real Madrid to be with his former mentor Jose Mourinho. Moving to the Spanish giants, he termed his desire to be a ‘dream’ where he would get a potential reunion with the self-proclaimed ‘Special One’ and former Chelsea coach.
The Portugal international has been linked with a move to Inter Milan this summer despite lifting a domestic double with Chelsea last season.
He told Spanish sports newspaper AS that if there was a possibility to sign with Real Madrid; he would go there right now swimming or running. He considers Madrid being the best club in the world, and wants to follow the orders from the best coach in the history of football. “It would be a dream to be able to play for Madrid” he added.
He has experienced two marvelous stages at Porto and Chelsea with Jose Mourinho and to have the opportunity to win another Champions League with him at Real Madrid would be tremendous for the Portuguese.
Carvalho played at Porto when Mourinho initially managed it and had won the UEFA Champions League in 2004. Carvalho followed his former boss to Chelsea like a shadow, but last season picked up an ankle injury at the end of March which ruled him out of the remainder of the campaign.
