Manchester City and  Tottenham Hotspurs were at the opposite ends of the spectrum as far as pre season transfers were concerned. While Tottenham were queit, City was on a spending spree signing players such as David Silva and  Aleksander Kolarov. These changes have made City a fovourite among bookies and in the top three teams to clinch the title this season.

Both teams had a pretty good season last year. Tottenham managed to make it to the champions league for the first time in the clubs history, while City finished fifth on the premiership ladder, five better than the year before.

Team news:

This is Tottenhams home game and they would like to maintain their domination over City after beating them 3-0 at home and 1-0 away last season. Tottenham are expected to be strong in defense with the likes of Assou-Ekotto, Corluka, Dawson, and goalkeeper Gomes. Crouch and Defoe are expected to be the strikers.
