iPhone 4G not coming to Verizon in 2010
Despite widespread speculation, the iPhone 4G will not be coming to Verizon. Currently Verizon is the only carrier in the US that has a 4G network, and Steve Jobs idea of not inviting them to his party means the iPhone 4G will not be a 4G phone after all.
Before the WWDC, the biggest question is town was ‘is the iPhone coming to Verizon?’ Jobs announced everything from the spectacular screen, to the great new slim design (click here for all the features), but fell short of announcing the ‘iPhone 4G Verizon.’
Apple has decided to stick with its old partner AT&T which has carried the iPhone since its launch in 2007. The iPhone 4G price was also announced along with the release date. It will be available from the 24th of June on a 24 month contract and will cost $199 for a 16 gb version and $299 for a 32 gb version.
AT&T is hardly what consumers want. Their networks are riddled with problems and they also have a lot of billing erros. But for now, if you want an iPhone, AT&T is the only option.
