Apple iPhone iOS 4 To Arrive at 1 p.m. ET
Apple is about to launch their new, upgraded operating system, namely iPhone iOS 4 today, Monday 21st of June, available for download.
The new OS is available for download today for owners of the iPhone 3GS and the 3rd generation iPod Touch, but not for iPad owners, as the iPhone iOS 4 will become available in September.
Key new features include:
- Applications: a whopping 2160 applications are now available for download with the new OS 4
- Folders: you will now be able to organize your favourite applications in different folders.
- Email: there is now a unified inbox so that you can see all your messages from your different accounts merged into one inboc. You can also open attachments in third party applications.
- iBooks App: (included in the iPad). With this App you can browse the iBooks store and purchase books to read on your iPhone, though it is rather doubtful whether anyone would read a proper book from the screen of an iPhone.
- Music playlists: You can now create your own custom playlists through music stored on your phone without having to hook your phone up to iTunes.
