Manchester United cruise to a 3-0 win over Newcastle
Manchester United’s Premier League campaign got off to a positve start with a thumping 3-0 win over Newcastle. Manchester United were on top of their opposition all throughout the game and never looked like giving away a goal.
Dimitar Berbatov, Darren Fletcher and Ryan Giggs scored a goal each, as Manchester United thrilled their loyal fan base at Old Trafford. Berbatov opened the scoring just before half time, getting one past the Newcastle goalkeeper.
Things just got better in the second half Fletcher took full advantage of some dreadful defence. Giggs, who replaced Portuguese star Nani in the second half, put the final nail in the coffin with a brilliant shot on the back of a corner from Paul Scholes, sending fans into a frenzy.
Alex Ferguson was full of praise for his side and expecially Scholes, who at 35, looked very impressive. Newcastle meanwhile have a lot to worry about ahead of their next game against Aston Villa.
