Muhammad cartoonist attacked
Swedish author of the cartoons that portrayed Prophet Muhammad as a dog, was attacked yesterday at Uppsala University in Sweden, announced CNN.
Lars Vilks, who has previously been threatened with death, was not injured, although a policeman who intervened got hurt, said Jonas Eronen, the police in Uppsala. Two people were arrested.
When Vilks entered the classroom where he was to take a speech in front of 250 people, five people began to protest.
After the police calmed the protesters, lecture began. But while Vilks was presenting a video registration, 15-20 people tried to attack him.
Police used pepper sprays and rubber batons to stop the protesters. Vilks did not return to continue his lecture.
In Islam, any depiction of the prophet is forbidden.
