Iraq: the bloodiest day in 2010
119 people died and another 350 were injured yesterday in a series of attacks in the worst of the days in Iraq this year, reports BBC.
Two car bombs exploded at the entrance of a textile factory in Hilla, just when the workers got into buses to go home.
Later, when ambulances came to the spot to help the wounded, a third suicide bomb detonated. 45 people died in Hilla, and another 140 were injured.
The violence began in Baghdad, where several individuals opened fire on police and army. At least seven officers were killed.
A double suicide bombing in a crowded market in Suwayra town killed 11 people and injured 40 other people.
Three car bombs exploded in Basra, 20 people died, dozens of other people were injured.
Three bombs have exploded in the town of Falluja, at least four people died, including a police officer and his wife .
Other attacks took place in Mosul Iskandiriya .
The authorities have putthe attacks on behalf of al-Qaeda.
