Man injured in explosion in Inverness
A man was injured in explosion in Thorn bush Road, Merkinch, in Inverness. Emergency services were called to the site immediately.
The injured man has been treated immediately for minor injuries. A number of detonators from the explosion were flying into the gardens nearby.
The army explosives experts have also been called to the site. About twenty-three houses have been vacated as a safety measure and the thorn bush road and Anderson Street have been closed after the incident.
For the people who had left their homes, the Highland council has made Merkinch Community centre as a reception area.
Totally nineteen homes have been emptied in thorn bush road and four homes have been evacuated in Mac Lennan Gardens.
