China launched fifth navigation satellite
Xichang, China – China on Suday successfully launched into space its fifth navigation satellite as part of its satellite navigation and positioning network called Beidou.
The orbiter blasted off late Saturday from the Long March 3I carrier rocket marking the 126th flight in the Long March series of rockets.
Saying the mission to be a successful, Xinhua news agency reported that the navigation satellite will join another four satellites in the orbit forming a network. This satellite will cover territory near the poles of our planet to provide timing services and global positioning.
