6 killed, 9 injured in bomb blast in Southern Afghanistan
Six Afghanis were killed and nine other injured when a minibus full of civilians struck a roadside improvised explosive device (IED) in the southern Afghanistan early Sunday said NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF).
The explosion took place in the Maiwand district of Kandahar Province, near to city of Kandahar. The explosive was placed on a secondary road south of Highway 1, which connects to the Nahr-e Saraj district in Helmand Province.
IEDs or home-made bombs are the main weapon chosen by Taliban’s for casualties. Over the years the Kandahar and Helmand provinces have been worst hit by the terror group.
