Science Making a Move On the Railroad
The science Express, is a new initiative taken by the collaboration of the Indian Ministry of Science &Technology, the Indian Railways, the Max-Plank organization, and the Vikram Sarabhai Community Science Centre.
The goal of the Science express is to allow students to appreciate the working concepts of science in everyday life.
The 16-coach air conditioned express travels around the country, stopping at each station on it’s itinerary, in order to impart knowledge to the masses, especially students.
Students get to have a look at cutting-edge technology, and state-of -the-art equipment that fill the pages of their textbooks. The tech-savvy train has halted at a 100 cities so far since it’s inauguration in 2008, and more than 50 lakh people have visited the exhibition so far. No doubt that the effort is laudable and its effect on young minds, long-lasting.
The Science Express will be in Delhi till the 9th of April at the Delhi Cantonement Railway station.
