Beggars of Tehran earn $ 1,500 per month
Almost 1,500 U.S. dollars get each month, into the pockets of people coming from poor villages and towns of Iran. Average value is therefore five times the minimum wage set by the authorities, reports today’s edition of the electronic publication The News, Pakistan.
Policemen gather from the streets over 300 people every day, people who sit on the at corners and ask passers-peddling. Most are women and children.
Pakistani journalists write, quoting sources in the municipality of Tehran, that “beggars earn in Tehran, every day, over $ 50.
Sadegh Avvali responsible for social services in the town hall in Tehran gave this approximate amount from a recent study.
Thus, a simple calculation shows that for 30 days of begging, “poor” Iran, asking passers-by on the street for money, can produce an income of 1,500 dollars and 15 million cal (local currency) per month.
