Earthquake of 7.2 degrees in Indonesia
An earthquake of 7.2 degrees magnitude the on Richter scale took place this morning in the Indonesian province of Aceh.
Following the earthquake, authorities issued a tsunami alert.
According to the site of the American Institute USGS, the earthquake had the preliminary magnitude of 7.4, the epicenter was located 220 kilometers from Banda Aceh and 1620 kilometers northwest of Jakarta.
On December 26, 2004, a tsunami caused by an earthquake of 9.3 degrees on Richter killed over 220,000 people in Indonesia.
