Google celebrates Tchaikovsky
Today as we celebrate 170 years since the birth of famous Russian composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky, search engine Google has changed its interface as a sign of homage.
And how else could have been more suitable than a picture of “Swan Lake”. Ballet “dancing” forms the Google logo.
Tchaikovsky died in November 1893, however, he is very much alive through his works in Romeo and Juliet, Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake or Nutcracker.
Tchaikovsky was born on the 7th of May 1840, in Kamsko-Wotkinski Sawod, a city that today bears his name. He took his first piano lessons at only five years, but advised by his parents he also studied law. He got employed as a secretary at the Ministry of Justice, but his passion for music led him to quickly give up this official job.
