Ind Vs SL 1st test, day 3: Indian seemers strike early
Indian seamers Ishant Sharma and Abhimanyu Mithun made a good start picking up two wickets early on day three of the first test against Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka scored 2/256 on the first day, but after rain washed away yesterdays play, and delayed this mornings start, the Sri Lankan batsmen would have been hoping to punish the bowlers even further. However those hopes were dashed by a charged up Ishant Sharma, who got rid of centurion Tharanga Paranavitana with a ball that shaped away and took an edge through to wicketkeeper Dhoni.
The following over, Indias fielding was again under the scanner. This time it was Rahul Dravid who dropped an easy chance from Samaraweera when an edge landed right into his lap.
Luckily it did not prove costly for the Indians, the following over, Mithun produced a beauty, jagging in from outside off at the last minute and trapping Samaraweera in front of the stumps.
Sri Lanka currently has 285 on the board for the loss of four wickets. A result is almost impossible on this pitch, but as they say, cricket is an unpreditctable game and things can change in a short space of time.
