Eat me not!

Weight loss is a combination of a series of exercises and a very carefully charted dietplan. The diet is a major part as it is the first step.

Firstly, on the path to weight loss, carbohydrates must be strictly removed from the diet. With consequential weight loss, carbohydrates can be introduced, in small quantities. Junk food, oily food and white starch must be avoided.

There is a need for extra protein and calcium to build the muscle and bone component in our system. Secondly, it is better to eat many small meals rather than three big meals a day.

This increases the metabolism which helps one to lose weight. Ideally thereshould be a two and a half hour gap between meals. On a daily basis, the nutritional intake should range between 1400 calories to 1600 calories.

There should be a daily intake of 600kcals of protein and milk is a must for staying fit. It is a well-known fact that in order to lose weight, physical workouts are necessary. Starving and losing weight is quite useless as that brings the metabolic rates down.

It is easy to reduce the metabolic rates but very difficult to spruce it up once it is lowered. Once the metabolic rates came down, it can be very difficult to lose weight.

This is the reason why starvation has short-lived results and is detrimental in the long run.
