Obesity and weight gain has been an issue plaguing the modern society primarily due todrastic shifts in daily routines as well as the exponential augment in the stress levels ofpeople. The most disturbing trend is that the obesity levels seem to be latching on to theyouth, especially because of unhealthy lifestyle choices, including lack of exercise, baddietary choices and detrimental sleep habits. While those affected by obesity belong to thewide age bracket of 18-65 years of age, a positive trend is that the youth is more awareabout fitness issues and consequentially, show more willingness to lose weight and stay fit.One of the first things that a person trying to loose weight should remember is whether heor she needs to lose weight at all or not. Due to media images pummeled into young minds,anorexia is another issue that needs to be tackled today. However, it must be rememberedthat losing weight quickly may not be possible uniformly for everyone. Everyone has varyingrates of metabolism, and the amount of weight loss is always proportionate to the actualweight.
