Men smoke twice as much as women
A man smokes, on average, as much as two women, or so show the results of Eurobarometer Report, conducted by the European Commission.
The same study indicates that, in Eastern countries, over one third of men are smokers (37.6%), while only 12.5% of women smoke.
Moreover, experts warn that tobacco dependence is stronger in women than in men. Thus, according to research conducted by the Medical University of Hong Kong, women give up smoking harder than men.
The difficulty is caused by the fact that women turn to smoke in tense moments ,therefore smoking is converted into a psychological support in overcoming stress and depression.
