Food for fasting
Fasting has always been perceived as a means to cleanse, detoxify and purify the body fromwithin. However, one of the first things to remember is that like every other treatment, it isnot suitable for just about everyone. Fasting once a week can yield very productive results, but only if a person is fit and not suffering from any kind of eating disorder or weakness. Also, for those trying to lose weight, fasting occasionally helps a lot. But fasting must neverbe defined as starvation. It refers to the exclusion of some food items, be it meat, or garlic, etc. Water and fluids are must diet inclusions during fasting. Fruit and vegetable juices, especially orange, pineapple, carrot, beetroot and pomegranate, mixed with a little bit ofsugar, are ideal beverages. Yoghurt and whey based drinks which do not have a lot of saltare also very beneficial. Sugar must be consumed, albeit in little quantities as excessivesugar consumption causes weight gain and acidity. Fruits must be consumed only if theyhave been freshly cut.
