Pakistan Vs England 4th test, day 2 highlights
Jonathan Trott and Stuart Broad scripted an amazing fightback to put England in command at 7/346 on day two of the fourth test at Lords.
England resumed at their overnight score of 1/39 and had a horror start to the morning losing 3 wickets without adding a single run on the board as Mohammad Amir wrecked havoc. A few moments later Morgan also perished leaving England reeling at 4/47 . Kevin Pietersen, Eoin Morgan and Paul Collingwood begged ducks in the process.
It was then left unto Prior and Trott to stem the fall of wickets and they did so with conviction until the lunch interval. But soon after lunch, things started to to go Pakistans way as Prior and Swann were dismissed within three balls.
At 7/102 Broad joined Trott to begin a historic revival. The pair scored centuries in a 244 run unbeaten stand that floored Pakistan. They were solid right from the begining. There were no fancy shots, but they made Pakistan pay for every mistake they made. Trott made 149 of 302 balls, while Broad scored 125 on the way to his maiden century.
The momentum has now shifted Englands way and Pakistans chances of drawing the series look slim. However, the surface is still good and if Pakistan can fold Englands innings out quickly, there is every chance of a Pakistan victory.
Brief scores:
England: 7/346 (Trott 149*, Broad 125*, Amir 6/73)
