Yogurt or curd is a rich source of calcium. Hence a cup of yogurt a day could help in healthier bones and would also help in keeping disorders such as osteoporosis at bay.

Yogurt is also a rich source of proteins. It can provide almost one-fifth of the daily protein requirement of our body. Also, the protein present in curd is more readily digested than that found in milk.

There are several bacteria found in curd which helps in fighting infections. Thus a cup of curd everyday would help in boosting the immunity of the body.

The bacteria present in curd like the lacto bacteria help in removing harmful substances from the colon thus helps improving the colon health. It also helps in guarding the body against colon-renal cancer.

One of the most common health complaints in young children or grownups is indigestion. People with such a problem can tolerate curd and can also benefit from its low lactose content. Curd also helps reduce the effects of antibiotics on the intestines.
