Food Manufacturers are urged to cut down on sodium

Health Care Organization in Canada should also overhaul nutrition labels to help consumers understand how a product’s sodium content contributes to their daily intake and require manufacturers to use uniform serving sizes, says the report released Thursday morning by the Sodium Working Group.

According to a report from a very reliable source, food manufacturers in Canada are encouraged to cut down on the amount of sodium on their products or else they will face consequences.

A report made by the Sodium Working Group last Thursday morning says that to better help the consumers understand, the Health Organization of Canada is to implement nutrition labels on the products. They also encouraged the food makers to use standardized serving sizes.

Moreover, the nutrition labels should be based on the 1,500 milligrams of the Recommended Daily Intake (RDI) of sodium per day with its goal to reduce causing health related problems due to excessive salt intake.
