Health Risks of Perfume

Many brands of perfume including the most sold in Canada, contain dozens of chemicals that are not written on the label and which may endanger  health, reports AFP.

“Halle” from actress Halle Berry, ‘Quiksilver’ sold in Canada and “Lo Glow” by Jennifer Lopez are among the most dangerous.

These perfumes contain each, seven substances capable to mess up your endocrine system. Six of the substances that imitate estrogen and one which affects the thyroid gland.

These chemicals can lead to a simple allergic reaction or affect the endocrine glands, according to a study conducted by the NGO Environmental Defence Canada, study made public yesterday.

17 perfumes were tested. 12 contain Dimethyl Talat, a product can lead to abnormal development of sex organs in male babies and sperm abnormalities in men.

Each product contains at least 14 substances tested that do not appear on the product label.
