Nissan Plans to Raise China Factory Capacity Nearly 70%

Japanese car manufacturer Nissan will expand production capacity in China to meet demand from the world’s largest market.

After BMW and Daimler, Nissan enters the race to occupy the first place based on the sales performed on the Chinese market.

Thus, the Japanese could experience a growing demand of cars on the Chinese market after the global crisis has led to worldwide reduction in orders.

However, even if the Chinese car market would grow up to 60%, Nissan still needs to expand its production capacity from 670,000 vehicles per year to over one million units by the end of March 2013, relates Nissan President Carlos  Ghosh  cited by Wall Street Journal.

At the end of March 2010 (closing fiscal year), Nissan reported a 48% sales growth in the Chinese market, compared with 2009.
