Mercury to Shut Down
Mercury is the one brand in cars that has been rumored to be on the verge of stutting down several times over the past decade.
Finally the rumors are true Mercury would be shut down under a plan being prepared for Ford Motor Co.’s board of directors.
The two executives who are behind the plan and have the knowledge of the plan, their names are asked not to be identified, said that the plan would be submitted to Ford’s board this July.
The overall process of shutting down totally depends on how quickly the automaker can convince Lincoln Mercury dealers to close or merge with a Ford-brand dealership.
