Nadal too strong for Federer

Spaniard Rafael Nadal has shown once again that he is the best player on clay in the world, after defeating yesterday, the leader of the world hierarchy – Swiss Roger Federer – in the final of the Madrid Masters.

Nadal, who will regain second place in the ATP rankings from next week, has reached 18 wins in the Masters circuit, following the victory with 6-2, 7-6, obtained against Roger Federer, the champion  at Roland Garros.

The two players are no longer to meet for another year, the last duel taking place throughout the final in Madrid, when the Swiss won.

Spaniard Rafael Nadal becomes the first player to win three titles on clay before the Grand Slam tournament at Roland Garros. Nadal is unbeaten on clay in 2010 (15 wins), and the success in the capital of Spain is the 39th of his career.
