On the final day of the test at Headingley, Rudi Koertzen was given a guard of honor to celebrate the final day of his 108-Test umpiring career test. In the Western Stand noisy knots of Pakistan fans lured by five pound tickets and the prospect of a chance to witness history, began gathering since the morning.
A long awaited Test victory for Pakistan over Australia finally came amid scenes of excruciating tension on the fourth morning at Headingley.
